Goat Team 1 travels around RI in Minnie's Goat Coach during the summer to goatscape and raise awareness. Descriptions were written by Wayne,Goat Team 1 pet human.
Holly, there is far too much to say about this perfect bundle of Nigerian Dwarf doe in a FB post. The short of it is this, Holly came to us a few months after Liberty and needed to live indoors with us . There was lots of rivalry between Holly and Liberty but they quickly bonded and to this day are besties! Holly sleeps at the foot of my bed and Liberty gets the pillow position, I get in between, plenty of room if you are less than 4 ft tall, I am not. Holly and Liberty were the inspiration b
Here she is, Queen of the Coach, Liberty! She escaped the slaughter house and came to live at The Sanctuary Of Hope 5 years ago. She has since then slept next to me, shared meals with me and been the best friend anyone could ask for! Holy came just a few months after Liberty and with some adjustment they became very close and are now besties!!! Everyone, even the monsters (Luna and Cinnamon) give Liberty lots of respect. When there is a coyote nearby Liberty is the one to keep watch, if she ala
Jacob is my buddy, and I, his. On Goat Team 1 we are all on the BUDDY system for many reasons, not the least of which is safety. Jacob chose me to be his buddy his first season and we've been buds ever since. One very notable thing about Jacob is that he is the most well behaved goat I have ever met. He adapted a fondness for a dry clean bed and will scold others if they do not follow this rule. He doesn't explore or steal and is very gentle. His sleeping habits can be quirky so he will wake me
Genora is the middle sister, Toff is older, Eska younger. Genora is a quiet powerhouse!!! She's sweet and loves to be groomed, until you try to trim her nails that is. She will take the clippers, throw them then kick your butt, in that order. She has been on Goat Team 1 for 6 years, she is amazing!
Sunny is an OG, from day 1! He was also the 3rd goat to join me aboard the Goat Coach year 'round. When not goatscaping with Goat Team 1 he is working on his educational YouTube videos and reports. He is also the largest, in mass, of all our goats, tipping the scales over 260lbs. Sunny is a gentle giant and a loyal friend. Also a notably accomplished thief of shiny things and bananas
Sponsored by Melissa Burns
Agent J is an OG , Original Goatscaper, he's been doing it from the beginning. He has the most loving eyes and gentle disposition of anyone I have ever met. Last winter he and I took a trip to Cornell University in Ithaca, NY so he could have a Thymoma removed. It was a complete success!
Luna is this gorgeous girls name! Cinnamon's twin sister, collectively the are "THE MONSTERS". Luna is as much a bully as she a lover!!! She loves her work on Goat Team 1, she loves her hobby of chasing and butting everyone, but most of all she loves affection. She understands how to manipulate anything from anyone! Luna brightens every night...
Cinnamon, twin sister of Luna. Together they are known as THE MONSTERS. She is one of the most affectionate and demanding goats I have ever known! Rivaled only by her sister. Outside the Goat Coach however she acts feral, as if she does not want attention or treats and she challenges and terrorizes everyone on Goat Team 1. Then we go inside where she will readily use physical, brute force to get what she wants. She will even try to pry food from my mouth if she feels I'm not sharing.
Ravon has been on Goat Team 1 since before it was Goat Team 1. He's a climber and a bulldozer or should I say GoatDozer! He stands over seven feet tall as well. He is super sweet and kind to goats as well as humans. His appetite is vast! Everyone loves this big guy, unfortunately for him that includes most biting insects!!!
Franky is a VERY LARGE Alpine. He's been living on the goat coach since he was just a year old. He's 5 now and still loving the travel of skoolie life. He's an affectionate people goat and loves to be in charge! Sadly Frank passed away this pass Fall from Lymphoma. He loved goatscaping and had a fan club. He will Truely be missed.
Aang, son of Toff, is a giant with an even bigger attitude. Even his idea of affection can be a bit painful but he is a HUGE love bug. He is always with his mom and gets upset if anyone tries to get between them. Fights often break out when anyone tries to lay next to her, he's most certainly a momma's boy!
Toff is Princess Yue's oldest kid, big sister to Genora and Eska and of course mother of Aang. She was fed by her mom but raised and attended to by her human Wayne. She thinks of humans as equals and treats them like any other of her goat friends, including headbutts and pushes. She is a Goat Team 1 OG (original goatscaper) and demands respect! (her son Aang is one of the largest goats and always helps mom!!)
Eska is one of Princess Yue's daughters. Aang's, Socka's and Zuko's Aunt. She is shy at times but when she wants attention or food, she demands it and gets it. Not only is she beautiful she's also a bit crazy! In the first photo the thing in her mouth is Socka's bum .
Socka, sweet and loyal. Socka's best friend is his twin brother Zuko. Socka is one of the largest goats on Goat Team 1 and takes advantage of this by eating at the 7 to 8 foot high level, above where most can reach!!! Socka likes to relax and be calm especially on The Goat Coach and he's never aggressive! However!!! He goes from calm and relaxed to insane if anyone bothers his brother or his peace, seriously crazy, no warning 0 to MADMAN in less than 1 second.
..
Handsome and always well groomed! Theis is Prince Zuko aka ZooZoo. Always out first and in the lead because he's always hungry!!! Twin brother of Socka and quite similar in deminer he's calm and affectionate but don't try to push him, like his brother he love peace and relaxation, or it's strait to RAGE! He's not quite as big as his twin but he is 10% crazier!!! The thing he enjoys almost as much as food is "face time", he loves rubbing his face against yours, this can last for an hour!
Bill came to The Sanctuary if Hope Inc (501c3 nonprofit) summer 2022 with his two brothers Richie and Kevin. They were gifted to their previous owner as pets. He quickly learned that goats are not ideal pets and he asked if we could take them. Goat Team 1 was on the road when all of this happened but we did stop by between assignments just when Bill, Kevin and Richie were done with their quarantine. Goat team 1 met the trio and very unexpectedly they fit right in with this notoriously exclusiv
He's a people person, to an extreme! Most goats don't really enjoy being picked up, they find it so undesirable that they may cause the lifter physical damage. Not Richie though, he will jump right into your arms. He came to the Sanctuary of Hope last summer. His person, who was gifted Richie and his two brothers , quickly realized that goats were not like dogs and required care that was beyond what he imagined. So he asked if they could come to The Sanctuary of Hope and here they are!
Meet Kevin, Richie's twin brother! Kevin loves attention, but only on his terms! He nibbles to let you know that he needs attention NOW. However, try to touch him when he has not asked and he will get very upset! He's the most well behaved of the trio, least likely to get in trouble hands down! His brothers are constantly getting into mischief but he does not. He loves travelling and eating in in all sorts of locations around Rhode Island.
Tina is many things, she very beautiful, incredibly smart and so strange! She's unique in so many ways, from the way she slides down hills on her belly to her ability to vocalize names (wayne). But the strangest behavior I've witnessed is the way she picks an alpha goat that she is friends with and then puts her face right in front of their face and screams a horrible scream as if they were attacking her. They do attack her after 3 or 4 screams!
LOLA, this is Lola. She lives on Minnie's Goat Coach and is a very loved member! The entire team seems to adore her. She came to Goat Team 1 with her best friend Tina. There mom asked if they could join us due to circumstances beyond her control and visits the often! They really love seeing her. Lola is very intelligent and does see humans as slightly inferior but she does try to
Goat Team 2 travels around RI in the Goat tote or Totes Mi goats during the summer to goatscape and raise awareness.
